I started playing guitar when I was 16. I didnt get serious about it till I was about 25. I played Jazz, Country, Rock, Hard Rock......and even covers covering those genres. Im always adapting to whats current or about to be current in terms of guitar music. Now Im into Djent and Progressive Metal. Anything with extended range dropped tuned guitar. Ive never been comfortable being stuck into one style or genre. Sometimes to a point that its caused me to leave bands with members not willing to expand or experiment. I think its because I love the barriers guitarist keep breaking. The boundaries they keep expanding. My day job......and life.....has taken a toll on my hands and body. I cant play the things I use to. No.....its not age.....its injuries. I cant shred or sweep pick anymore. Usually playing guitar these days is a painful pleasure.....but Im not going to stop until God says so. I gave up a long time ago on the dream of being famous and having the "Rock Star" life. But I still hold out hope that someone will buy my music.....either as a patron....or to record it themselves. In the last year I have gotten extremely interested in Audio Engineering and have been studying that. I would love to get good enough at it to make a living mixing peoples music and produce. However.....its proven to be a bit more difficult than I had foreseen.....at least for me. But....we'll see...........
Writing and playing music is what keeps my heart beating. Its what emotions sound like. Its a release.......its what I have to do......or I cease to exist..........
The dream of being a famous rock star has long been gone for me. I still want to make a living off music to some degree. Whether selling my music, selling songs to other artist, or audio engineering.
Good question.......... Right now the world is upside down. Bad is now good. What was once unacceptable behavior is now considered acceptable....... I would want to put God and morals back into the world. Hold people accountable for their actions.
Black Sabbath's Iron Man...... My parents listened to all what is now considered "Classic Rock". I remember being a small kid and talking into a fan saying "I Am Iron Mannnnnn"

Its been a very long time since I gigged.......but I use to love the power music seemed to have over people. I remember playing Lionel Ritchies "Hello" one night in this cover band.......we blew that song out of the water......best version we had ever played...... A lady on the dance floor started crying.......it hit her some how..... Thats when I got it.
Not a slam, as there is a huge amount of great things happening now in music......but theres a huge lack of "actual" performed music. Everything is being pieced together from samples and loops and pre-created beats...... Nothing wrong with it........just think people should learn instruments, theory..........create something thats YOURS

Not getting my music out there........and being a sucky singer.
Not so much. I'll go see a band every once in awhile but for the most part.....the time spent at a club seeing a band is time away from my studio. Not to mention.....the last few times I went to see some bands......the volume was so loud it was just a wall of indiscernible sound. Everyone could have been playing a different song and you wouldn't be able to tell. I don't mind loudness.....but I want to be able to hear and understand what's being played.
